This policy explains how Zyon Films (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit zyonfilms.com.au or contact us. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If you contact us from the UK or European Economic Area, we also respect your rights under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR.

What we collect

Enquiries: when you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, phone number, the type of enquiry and your message. We also record how you found our website (for example, a Google ad, a search result or a referral), the page you arrived on, your time zone and, if you clicked a Google ad, the Google click identifier.
Phone calls and emails: if you call or email us, we keep the details you give us. If you call us from one of our Google ads, Google may give us call details such as the call time, duration and your area code.
Website usage: like most websites, we collect information about how visitors use the site, such as pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location and the ads or links that brought you here. This is collected using cookies and similar technologies (see below).
Security logs: our security software records IP addresses and requests to protect the site from attacks and spam.

How we use it

To reply to your enquiry, prepare quotes and deliver our video production services.
To understand which of our advertising and marketing is working, so we can improve it.
To keep our website secure and free of spam.
To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not add you to a mailing list without your permission.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

We use the following services, which may set cookies or collect data on our behalf:

Google Analytics 4, to measure how visitors use the site.
Google Ads conversion tracking, to measure which ads lead to enquiries. This includes enhanced conversions: when you send an enquiry, your email address and phone number are converted into an irreversible code (hashed) in your browser before being sent to Google, which uses it to match the enquiry to an ad click. Google does not receive your email address or phone number in readable form from us.
Google reCAPTCHA, to protect our contact form from spam. Its use is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Click-fraud protection (ClickCease), which checks clicks on our Google ads, including IP address and device information, to block fake and repeat clicks.
Embedded videos from Vimeo and fonts from Google Fonts, which may collect technical information such as your IP address when they load.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can manage personalised Google ads at adssettings.google.com. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Read more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Who we share it with

We only share personal information with service providers that help us run our business, such as Google (analytics, advertising, reCAPTCHA and our business email), our website host and content delivery network (Bunny CDN), our website security provider (Wordfence) and our accountant. Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States and Europe. We may also disclose information when required by law.

How long we keep it and how we protect it

Enquiries are kept in our business email for as long as needed to respond and to keep business records (usually up to 7 years for client records, as required for tax purposes). Our website does not store contact form submissions in its database. We use secure (HTTPS) connections, security software and access controls to protect your information.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or object to how we use it, by emailing info@zyonfilms.com.au. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not happy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au), or to your local data protection authority if you are in the UK or EU.
