ActewAGL sought to launch their new Energy Saving Solutions program with a television commercial that was clever, memorable, and refreshingly human. The vision was to sidestep the typical corporate messaging and instead, create a humorous and relatable scenario that would instantly connect with business owners. We imagined a simple, ironic story set in a retail store that would highlight the absurdity of making excuses not to save money.
Our approach was rooted in classic, character-driven storytelling. We crafted a witty narrative centred on an enthusiastic salesperson passionately advocating for the very energy-saving products his own store fails to use. By focusing on sharp dialogue, comedic timing, and a high-quality cinematic finish, we built a narrative that feels less like an advertisement and more like a short, entertaining film. This high-production-value approach ensures the story delivers its punchline with maximum impact.
The result is a commercial that powerfully builds brand recognition through humour and charm, making ActewAGL’s message unforgettable. The story skillfully disarms viewer skepticism and dismantles procrastination, inspiring business owners to take immediate action.
